Nawanshahr:- In memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country and nation during the country's freedom struggle, officers, employees of all departments and the general public observed a 2-minute silence at the District Administrative Complex Nawanshahr today at 11:00 am. On this occasion, all the officers, employees and people who came to get work done in the offices also paid tribute to the martyrs.
After offering floral tributes to the picture of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi ji, Additional Deputy Commissioner Balbir Raj Singh said that the sacrifice of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle can never be forgotten and the entire country is proud of its great martyrs. He said that if today we are breathing in the glory of an independent country, it has been possible only because of the martyrdom of those great martyrs.
He said that even today, the soldiers of our security forces are sacrificing themselves for the unity and integrity of the country. Additional Deputy Commissioner Balbir Raj Singh said that we should perform our duty with complete honesty and loyalty while contributing to creating the country of the dreams of the martyrs.
On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner General Jagdeep Singh paid tribute to the portrait of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi Ji. Officers and employees of various departments were also present on this occasion.
