Kapurthala- In collaboration with the District Language Office, Kapurthala, and Kitab Manch Kapurthala (Regd.), a discussion dedicated to the memory of the great poet Padmashree Surjit Patar, focusing on his life, literary achievements, and personal experiences of fellow writers, is being organized on May 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the District Language Officer’s office, Kapurthala. 
Dr. Harbhajan Singh, President of Kitab Manch Kapurthala, and General Secretary Madam Swaraj Kaur shared information stating that this event is being planned to honor Patar Sahib on the occasion of his death anniversary.
In this special event, local poets will dedicate their compositions to Patar Sahib. District Language Officer Kapurthala, Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, mentioned that this is a commendable initiative by Kitab Manch Kapurthala to pay tribute to Punjab’s renowned poet through this gathering. She added that a special exhibition of books published by the Language Department Punjab will also be set up, from where readers can purchase books according to their interests and preferences.
