Hoshiarpur: On the fifth day of the Shri Ram Katha, organized by the Shri Bade Hanuman Ji Sevak Sanstha, Hoshiarpur, under the leadership of Chairman and Katha organizer, former Mayor Shiv Sood, and President Rakesh Suri, Rajan Ji Maharaj continued the story of Lord Ram's incarnation by narrating the story of the Lord's wedding celebrations. He explained that King Janak had vowed to marry his daughter Sita to the one who could lift and string Shiva's bow, and as a result, he organized the Sita Swayamvara. Upon learning of this, kings from all over the world began arriving in Mithila. Meanwhile, when Lord Ram also arrives in Mithila, he seeks permission from his Guru and goes to collect flowers for worship.
Upon the arrival of the two brothers in Mithila, the entire city blossoms, exuding a unique aura. Meanwhile, Mother Sita also comes to the flower garden to collect flowers, and during this time, Mother Sita and Lord Ram see each other. Mother Sita worships Goddess Parvati and silently expresses her desire to accept Lord Rama as her husband. Upon this, Goddess Parvati grants her the boon and blessings of her choice.
The court is set for the swayamvara, and thousands of kings attempt to lift the bow one by one. However, none can lift it, let alone move it. This enrages King Janak, who defiantly demands, "Is there no hero on this earth capable of lifting this bow?" Hearing this, Lakshmana bows to Lord Rama, stands up, and says, "Brother, if you permit, I will pick up this bow and shatter it into pieces like a straw."
Seeing Lakshmana's anger, all the kings present in the court, including King Janak himself, are terrified, wondering who this boy is who is roaring like this. Lord Rama summons Lakshmana to himself and asks him to calm down. Meanwhile, his guru signals Lord Ram to get up. When Lord Rama reached the bow, he remembered Lord Shiva and bowed to it. After bowing, he lifted it with ease and began to string it. As soon as he did so, the earth shook and a loud thunderclap erupted.
In the same time as the lightning flashed, the Lord lifted the bow and began to string it, and the bow broke. Rajan Ji Maharaj explained that all this happened so quickly that the king and others present there were unable to see the scene clearly due to the lightning's glare. As soon as the bow broke, Mother Sita was overjoyed, and the gods began to praise the Lord. He explained that after the bow broke, Lord Parashurama arrived and offered to punish the one who had broken the bow of his idol, Lord Shiva. Lord Rama replied, "Lord, only your servant could do such a thing."
After a long conversation, Lord Parashuram sees Lord Hari in Lord Rama and he apologizes to the Lord and goes to his place. Taking the story forward, Rajan Ji Maharaj completed the story of Lord's marriage in a very attractive manner through hymns in Hindi and Mithila language and the devotees attended by dancing.
