Chandigarh, May 31:- Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Harvinder Kalyan today attended various programs organized as the chief guest in various programs organized in villages Sadarpur, Rasulpur Kalan and Gharonda of Karnal district on the occasion of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar's birth anniversary. During this, he paid homage to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar by offering floral garlands to her picture.
Ahilyabai Holkar - An example of struggle and empowerment
Sri Harvinder Kalyan said that Devi Ahilyabai Holkar dedicated her entire life to society, nation and culture. She took the initiative to save society and culture in a very difficult time, when the country was struggling with external attacks and evils. He abandoned evil practices like Sati and took up the responsibility of education and governance and strengthened the culture of the nation by rebuilding cultural heritage like Somnath Temple. He said that India was a golden bird. Earlier, the Mughals and the British looted India a lot and worked to destroy culture by removing the names of great people from history.
Great people do not belong to any one caste, but to the entire society
Sri Harvinder Kalyan said that the present government has taken a historic decision to celebrate the birth anniversaries of all great people at the government level. Its main objective is to lift the society above the bonds of caste and unite it in one thread. He said that great people do not belong to any particular class or caste, but their ideas are the heritage of the entire humanity. When 36 communities come together to celebrate such programs, the unity of the society becomes even stronger.
Message of service spirit and hard work given to the youth
The Vidhan Sabha Speaker especially called upon the new generation and children to connect with the thoughts of great people. He said that our progress should not be limited to ourselves alone. We should also look at the weak or poor people around us and work for their welfare.
He gave the example of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and explained how these personalities, coming from simple and poor families, adorned the highest positions of the country on the strength of hard work and honesty.
