Garhshankar, 8 August:- Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Deputy Speaker and Halqa MLA Garhshankar S. Jai Krishan Singh Rauri during public meeting held at village Moila Wahidpur presented cheque of Rs 8 lakh to panchayat of village for development works of village. On this occasion large number of villagers, panchayat representatives, party workers and dignitaries of area were present.
Deputy Speaker Rauri during his address said that under leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann Punjab Government is fully committed for all-round development of villages. He said that in every village grants are being continuously released to strengthen roads, streets-drains, drinking water, sewerage, street lights, playgrounds and other basic facilities.
He said that purpose of public meetings is to go to people's own village and listen to people's problems and get them solved immediately. He told that Government's effort is that no citizen has to make rounds of offices for solution of his problem, but administration itself should reach people.
Rauri said that with grant of Rs 8 lakh given for development of village Moilan Wahidpur, needed development works in village will be done more rapidly. He appealed to panchayat that every penny of grant should be used transparently on public welfare works so that every section of village can get benefit of it.
During this Deputy Speaker listened carefully to people's problems and demands and gave instructions to concerned officers to take action on the spot in many matters. He assured that no deficiency will be allowed to come in development of Halqa Garhshankar and development funds will be provided to every village as per need.
Panchayat of village and all villagers thanking Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rauri said that this grant will give new speed to development of village. Praising efforts being made by Punjab Government for development of villages they assured that grant amount will be spent with full honesty and transparency on development works.
