Garhshankar:- The series of giving new gifts of development to the people of constituency Garhshankar is continuing. Under this, various development works to be carried out at a cost of Rs 58 lakh in Ward No. 4 of Garhshankar city were inaugurated by Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker and MLA of constituency Garhshankar S. Jai Krishan Singh Rauri. On this occasion, Deputy Speaker Rauri was warmly welcomed by area residents and happiness was expressed on commencement of development works.
On this occasion, Deputy Speaker S. Jai Krishan Singh Rauri said that he is fully committed to the all-round development of constituency Garhshankar. Development works are being carried out in every ward and village of the city as per needs of people. He said that these works being carried out at a cost of Rs 58 lakh in Ward No. 4 will prove important for area residents and will bring big change in appearance of the ward.
Deputy Speaker Rauri said that improving roads, streets, drains, sewerage, drinking water and other basic facilities is the main priority of government. He said that development works will not remain limited to papers only, but their benefit will be delivered to common people at ground level.
Rauri said that whatever demands and problems are being brought to his notice by people regarding development of Garhshankar city, efforts are being made to solve them on priority basis. New development projects are being prepared as per need in different wards of city so that people can get better facilities near their homes itself.
Deputy Speaker instructed officials of concerned departments that no negligence should be done in development works and all works should be completed in standard manner within stipulated time. He said that any kind of compromise with quality of development works will not be tolerated.
He said that special attention is being given by Punjab Government towards fulfilling basic needs of people and strengthening basic infrastructure of cities. Under this series, development works are also being carried out on large scale in Garhshankar constituency. He said that more projects will be brought for development of constituency in coming time also.
On this occasion, area residents said that with commencement of development works of Rs 58 lakh in Ward No. 4, many long-pending problems will be solved. They thanked Deputy Speaker S. Jai Krishan Singh Rauri saying that with these development works basic facilities of ward will be further improved.
On this occasion, Youth President and Prince Chaudhary from Ward No. 4, MC Harpreet, Municipal Council President Somnath Bangar, Gyan Chand Pawar, Manjit Rana, Gogi, Shekhar, Suresh Chaudhary, Ravinder Rana, Jagdish, Prem, Kishan, Doctor Joginder, Gurdeep, local leaders, representatives of Municipal Council, officials, party workers and large number of area residents were present.
