Una, November 1 – Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal participated in the "Tobacco-Free Youth Campaign 3.0" organized by the Una Health Department today (Saturday). As part of the campaign, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjeev Verma jointly took an inspiring selfie on the "Tobacco-Free Selfie Wall" to encourage youth to stay away from tobacco and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
This innovative initiative is a commendable effort to educate youth about the ill effects of tobacco use and inspire them to become addiction-free, healthy, and aware citizens.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal stated that tobacco use is not only detrimental to personal health, but also socially and economically harmful. He urged youth to make this campaign a part of their lives and realize the goal of a "Tobacco-Free Una."
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjeev Verma informed that during the campaign period, public awareness programs, essay and poster competitions, health talks and de-addiction rallies will be organized in schools, colleges and various institutions so that more and more youth can join this campaign.
It is noteworthy that “Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 3.0” is a special public awareness initiative, which is being conducted through various activities across the district till December 2025. The main objective of this campaign is to eliminate the tendency of tobacco and other addictions among the youth and to create a healthy, strong and drug-free society.
