Haroli/Una, June 9: Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri inspected major ongoing development projects in the Haroli Assembly constituency on Tuesday to assess their progress. He visited the Haroli College building—currently under construction at a cost of approximately ?12.70 crore—to review the quality and pace of the work, instructing the concerned officials to complete the project in a time-bound manner.
The Deputy Chief Minister stated that the college campus is being equipped with modern amenities. Facilities such as a modern stage, open gym, volleyball and badminton courts, and a campus cafeteria with state-of-the-art features are being constructed to nurture the students' talents.
He noted that the college currently offers courses including BA, B.Com, BCA, BBA, and B.Sc. (Medical and Non-Medical), as well as M.Com and M.A. programs in Political Science, English, History, and Hindi. Additionally, classes for PGDCA and B.Sc. Computer Science will commence from the current academic session. Approval has also been granted for the establishment of state-of-the-art modular science laboratories for Botany, Chemistry, Physics, and Zoology. He remarked that these facilities would provide students with modern, high-quality, and employment-oriented education.
Meanwhile, late Monday night, the Deputy Chief Minister inspected the construction work of the grand Sheetla Mata Temple in Ispur. While reviewing the progress, he emphasized the importance of ensuring quality and adherence to timelines. He also performed formal prayers at the temple. He stated that the Sheetla Mata Temple is a major center of faith for the region, and its grand reconstruction would not only provide better facilities for devotees but also boost religious tourism.
It is noteworthy that over the past week, the Haroli Assembly constituency has received several significant initiatives in the sectors of health, education, animal husbandry, and infrastructure. The state government has upgraded the Haroli Veterinary Hospital to the status of a Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital. Along with this, posts for a Senior Veterinary Officer and a Chief Veterinary Pharmacist have been created, ensuring that livestock owners in the area receive better and modern veterinary facilities.
Similarly, administrative approval of ?8.42 crore has been granted for the construction of an additional 50-bed Civil Hospital building in Haroli. Upon completion, this project will provide improved healthcare facilities to the residents of Haroli and surrounding areas.
The Deputy Chief Minister stated that work is proceeding rapidly on several projects to strengthen connectivity in the region. Construction of a bridge connecting Chandpur and Lalri over the Chandpur Khad, costing ?3.87 crore, is underway on a war footing. A bow-string bridge over the Haroli Khad, built at a cost of approximately ?5 crore, has already been dedicated to the public. Additionally, the construction of 14 new bridges—including the ambitious Pandoga-Tyudi bridge—is progressing through various stages. Work on the Jhaleda-Ghaluwal bridge, costing ?37 crore, is also set to begin soon.
**Close monitoring of the pace of development**
Mukesh Agnihotri stated that the holistic development of the Haroli Assembly constituency is his top priority. He mentioned that he is personally monitoring the projects regularly to ensure both speed and quality in development works. He added that reviews and inspections of public-interest projects continue round-the-clock to ensure every project is completed within the stipulated timeframe and benefits the people.
Senior Congress leader Ashok Thakur, Haroli SDM Vishal Sharma, newly elected Haroli Zila Parishad member Keval Singh, and others were present on the occasion.
