Fatehabad, February 4: The Mahashakti Charitable Trust, which is running a war-level campaign against drug abuse, has expressed deep concern over the growing drug trade in the country and has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A delegation led by the trust's founder, Bhavani Singh, met with Deputy Commissioner Vivek Bharti and handed him a memorandum addressed to the PM. The memorandum demands that the PM take strict action against drug traffickers, make major changes in the laws, and arrange for the treatment of drug addicts under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
In the letter to the PM, the trust's founder, Bhavani Singh, stated that the Ratia area of ??Haryana, which borders Punjab, is severely affected by the drug problem. Sharing shocking statistics, he said that in the last 1-2 years alone, 64 young people have died due to drug abuse in Ward No. 4 of the city. Additionally, thousands of young people across the district are ruining their lives because of this addiction. Bhavani Singh stated in the letter that this growing drug trade is not just a crime, but a deep-seated foreign conspiracy to hollow out India from within.
Citing the recent 'Operation Sindoor' as an example, he said that when enemy countries are unable to fight directly, they are weakening the foundations of the country by pushing the youth towards drug abuse. Some local elements are also involved in this, assisting in smuggling from across the border. The Mahashakti Charitable Trust has urged the Prime Minister to take strict action against drug traffickers and demanded that drug traffickers and their entire network be prosecuted under the National Security Act.
The trust demanded that drug trafficking be classified as treason instead of a normal crime. Strict provisions, such as life imprisonment, should be made for such criminals to prevent this poison from spreading in society again. The trust members believe that drug trafficking is a direct attack on the country's security, economy, and social fabric. He expressed confidence that under the strong leadership of the Prime Minister, India will surely win this ‘internal war’.
