Patiala:- The Deputy Commissioner Patiala has issued guidelines to the educational institutions of the district, District Education Officer (Secondary), District Red Cross, Fire Brigade and Punjab Home Guard Civil Defence to train students and teachers to deal with future natural, climatic and man-made disasters, accidents, domestic incidents, heart attacks and cardiac arrests, so that they can prove helpful in saving precious lives and property.
In compliance with these orders, **Dedicated Brothers Group, Patiala** will also organize special training camps for students and teachers in educational institutions of the district on Disaster Management, Civil Defence, First Aid and Fire Safety.
Dr. **Rakesh Vermi** said that **50 students and 5 teachers** will be given a special four-day training in each cooperating school and college. During this, practical training will be given on disaster management, civil defense, first aid, fire safety, safe use of gas cylinders, methods of rescuing victims safely and taking them to the hospital with the help of bandages, planks, ropes, bamboos, sheets and hand sheets. Along with this, mock drills will also be conducted regarding various emergency situations.
He said that these trainings will be given by **Shri Kaka Ram Verma, Disaster Management, Civil Defense, First Aid and Fire Safety Trainer of the Government of India**, so that the participants can get both theoretical and practical training.
The students and teachers who complete the training will be honored with a certificate of appreciation by **Dedicated Brothers Group, Patiala**.
Dr. Rakesh Vermi said that in today's time, more deaths are happening due to disasters, gas leaks, fires, electrical accidents, heart attacks, cardiac arrest, fainting, shock and smoke than diseases. In such situations, timely first aid and proper rescue techniques can save many precious lives. Therefore, such trainings and regular exercises are the main need of the hour.
