Lalru, August 21:- An important meeting of Municipal Council Lalru was held today under the chairmanship of Municipal Council President S. Zorawar Singh, in which Derabassi constituency MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa specially participated. During the meeting, various resolutions related to the development of the city and the facilities of the people were discussed and many important decisions were taken.
During the meeting, it was decided to put 80 sanitation workers working under the Municipal Council on contract. Apart from this, approval was also given to install new tubewells to solve the drinking water problem at Alamgir and Magra.
Similarly, it was decided to close the drain on the side of Dharamgarh Sampark Road and install a large sewage pipeline there and to widen the Dharamgarh Sampark Road falling within the limits of the Municipal Council by 20 feet. A resolution was also passed to install a transformer at the newly built bus stand.
A resolution was also passed to increase the booking fee of community centers under the Municipal Council from Rs. 1100 to Rs. 2100. Apart from this, discussions were also held to expedite various development works being carried out under the Council.
On this occasion, MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa said that the remaining works related to the development of Lalru city will be completed soon on priority basis and no stone will be left unturned to provide better basic facilities to the people.
After the meeting, MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa laid the foundation stone of the construction work of Sri Guru Ravidas Bhawan at Lalru. This Bhawan, which will be built at a cost of about Rs. 24 lakhs, will become an important center for religious, social and community activities for the Sangat.
Senior Vice President of the Municipal Council Mr. Harish Madan, Vice President Mr. Aman Rana, Councilors, Ward Incharge and members of the Ravidas community were present on this occasion.
