Hansi: Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Rahul Narwal has directed all eligible educational institutions in the district to register under the Election Commission of India's 'Voter Literacy Club 2.0' initiative. He instructed officials to disseminate information about this initiative to as many educational institutions as possible so that students and the youth can become aware of the voting process and their rights as voters.
Rahul Narwal stated that the Election Commission of India launched the Voter Literacy Club in 2018 under the 'Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation' (SVEEP) program. Its primary objective was to educate students and the youth about the voting process, democratic values, and the functioning of the Election Commission. Now, evolving with the times, this initiative is being advanced as 'Voter Literacy Club 2.0'.
He emphasized that youth participation in democracy is crucial in today's times. Through Voter Literacy Club 2.0, students will not only receive information about voting but will also be encouraged to understand the electoral process and become responsible citizens.
**Effort to engage students with the voting process**
The Deputy Commissioner explained that such clubs would be established in every assembly constituency, allowing students to easily understand the electoral process through various activities. Awareness activities regarding voting, voter rights, the democratic system, and election-related topics will be organized within these clubs.
He added that students would be encouraged to raise awareness about voting among their families and people in their communities. This will enable the youth to not only become informed themselves but also share accurate information with others.

He informed that eligible educational institutions can register for Voter Literacy Club 2.0 through the portal designated by the Election Commission of India. Additionally, the registration facility is also available via the ECINet app.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to provide comprehensive information regarding the registration process to all eligible educational institutions in the district and to extend necessary support. He emphasized the need to ensure that club activities are conducted regularly following registration.

Rahul Narwal stated that the benefits of this initiative should reach the maximum number of students and young people. To achieve this, widespread publicity should be carried out in educational institutions, and eligible institutions should be encouraged to register as soon as possible.
