Hisar: After interacting with traders and industrialists, Bajrang Garg, the provincial president of the Haryana Pradesh Vyapar Mandal and former chairman of Haryana CONFED, said that criminals in Haryana are openly demanding ransom by carrying out shootings from inside jails and from abroad. This has created an atmosphere of complete fear among traders, industrialists, and the general public in Haryana.
There is widespread anger among the public due to criminals demanding a ransom of Rs. 2 crore from a doctor in Jhajjar, and demanding ransom and monthly payments in districts like Panipat, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Hisar, Rohtak, Gurugram, Faridabad, Jind, Kurukshetra, Ambala, and Fatehabad. Criminals are operating gangs under different names and demanding ransom. Bajrang Garg said that criminals are demanding ransom from traders through their gangs while sitting in jail.
He questioned how criminals in jail are getting access to mobile phones, implying that the jail administration is colluding with the criminals. The government should investigate how mobile phones are reaching criminals in jail, and take the strictest possible action against any jail administration officials found to be involved. If the government stops the criminal activities taking place inside jails, 70 percent of crime in Haryana will be reduced.
Bajrang Garg said that the main reason for the continuous increase in crime in Haryana is the rise of drug abuse in the state. Today, the drug trade is flourishing openly in Haryana. The younger generation is becoming increasingly addicted to drugs. The youth are being ruined because of drug addiction. The government should completely ban the drug trade in the state to save the younger generation from its devastating effects.
