Santoshgarh/Una, July 4 (Rajveer Chopra): A cooperative 'Chaupal' (community gathering) was organized in Santoshgarh on Saturday as part of Cooperative Week. Secretaries of various local cooperative societies, farmers, and members of self-help groups participated enthusiastically in the event. The objective of the program was to strengthen the cooperative movement and disseminate information about various government-run welfare schemes to the general public.
Raman Rani, Assistant General Manager of Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Ltd., attended the event as the chief guest. She was accompanied by Santoshgarh Municipal Council Councilors Charanjeet Kaur, Ayush Sharma, and Kiran Bais, along with Bank Manager Kuldeep Singh Mahal, Vikas Sharma, and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers highlighted the importance of cooperation, noting that cooperative institutions play a vital role in empowering the rural economy and strengthening the financial status of farmers. They urged farmers and self-help groups to maximize the benefits of cooperative schemes.
During the 'Chaupal', detailed information was provided regarding various schemes of national cooperative institutions operating under the guidance of the Ministry of Cooperation. Specific details were shared regarding financial assistance, self-employment opportunities, loan facilities, and other beneficial government schemes available for self-help groups.
At the conclusion of the program, participants asked various questions related to the schemes, which the officials answered in detail. The attendees appreciated such awareness programs and emphasized the need for organizing similar events regularly in the future.
