Patiala:- The 34th death anniversary of Comrade Bhagwan Singh Ankhi was celebrated by Punjab under the chairmanship of Comrade Jarnail Singh Aulakh, President Punjab, at Comrade Bhagwan Singh Ankhi Bhawan, Factory Area, Patiala. On this occasion, thousands of electricity employees from every corner of Punjab gathered to pay tribute.
Issuing a press statement, State General Secretary Baljit Singh Modla said that Comrade Hardev Arshi, Comrade Sikander Nath, All India Kisan Sabha President Comrade Joginder Sambar, Jagjit Singh Zoga and Brij Lal were specially present to address the death anniversary.
Comrade Hardev Arshi strongly criticized the anti-employee, farmer, laborer and student policies of the Central and Punjab Government. He said that inflation and unemployment have increased drastically in the last 11 years, the country's foreign debt has reached record levels and public sector institutions are being given to private hands at the price of lepers. The government is diverting attention from public issues and creating religious polarization.
Comrade Joginder Sambar said that the Punjab government is continuously robbing the rights of farmers and employees. The MSP Guarantee Act is being evaded and farmers are under debt, while loans worth lakhs of crores of rupees of corporates are being waived.
Five resolutions were passed on the occasion of the anniversary, through which there was a demand to withdraw the labor code, repeal the Electricity Amendment Bill 2025, stop the sale of government properties, implement the agreements reached with employees and immediately stop the privatization of the public sector.
