Chandigarh, December 23:- The Haryana government has directed all departments to ensure that the complete RTI reply and first appeal order by the State Public Information Officers (SPIOs) and First Appeal Authorities are mandatorily uploaded on the RTI online portal along with all the submitted documents. If the size of the documents or file is large, then it should be properly compressed as per the prescribed file size.
A letter has been issued by Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Rastogi to all the Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Chief Administrators/Managing Directors of Boards/Corporations, Registrars General of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Registrars of Universities, Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of the state.
It has come to the notice of the Government that in many cases, while filing a reply on the RTI online portal, only a brief remark like "Reply submitted" or "Reply given" is filed by the concerned authorities, while the relevant documents are not uploaded. This prevents the availability of necessary information, especially at the level of second appeal, as the RTI portal has been linked with the portal of the Central Information Commission by the NIC.
