Competitions were held on extinguishing fire and rescuing victims.

Patiala- In connection with the National Fire Safety Week being celebrated in the country, First Aid Safety Health Awareness Mission organized competitions on fire, gas, electric shock circuit and rescue of victims, first aid, CPR, ventilator and artificial respiration for students at Veer Haqiqat Rai Model Senior Secondary School, Patiala under the leadership of Principal Mrs. Sarla Bhatnagar.
Principal Sarla Bhatnagar said that in these competitions, junior teams demonstrated stopping gas leakage in houses, mother fainting due to gas, children of class five to seven demonstrated stopping gas, laying the victim on his stomach and removing gas from the windpipe by ventilator and giving artificial respiration in a safe manner.
Senior teams and NCC cadets demonstrated using cylinder in a car parked outside the house, ABCD recovery position and saving an unconscious driver by doing CPR. While judging, Professor Miglani, Gurjaap Singh, Upkar Singh and ASI Ram Saran said that the children have performed very well due to which other students and teachers have also gained information about fire safety and first aid.
Kaka Ram Verma said that in the junior teams, Soni Public School and in the senior team, Veer Haqiqat Rai Model Senior Secondary School came first, Soni Public School and Daffodils Public School came second, whereas New Dedicated Public School and Veer Haqiqat Rai School came third.
