Cold wave grips Kashmir. Last night, the temperature was minus 3.9 degrees Celsius, the coldest night of the season. The mercury remained below minus 10 degrees Celsius in most parts of the valley. The night temperature in Srinagar was 4 degrees below normal. Conibel in south Kashmir's Pulwama district was the coldest place in the valley where the temperature was recorded at minus 5.5 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Pahalgam tourist resort was recorded at minus 4.6 degrees Celsius, while Gulmarg recorded a minimum temperature of zero degrees Celsius. Qazigund, known as the gateway to the valley, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3.4 degrees Celsius.
While the minimum temperature in Kupwara in north Kashmir was minus 4 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has predicted mainly dry weather across Kashmir till December 2, with a further drop in night temperatures.
