Chandigarh, 13 October:- Prioritising children's health and cleanliness alongside education in Haryana's schools, the state government has taken an important step. Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said that funds had been systematically released for all government primary schools in the state to ensure cleanliness, housekeeping, roof cleaning, sanitation of toilets, maintenance of playgrounds and proper drainage arrangements.

In primary schools where part-time workers are not employed, funds under the ‘Swachh Prangan’ scheme have been released directly to the District Elementary Education Officers, acting as Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), at the rate of Rs. 8,000 per school per month to ensure the smooth maintenance of these facilities.

Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda has appealed to all District Elementary Education Officers, Block Education Officers, Block Elementary Education Officers, principals, headmasters, headmistresses, teachers and chairpersons of School Management Committees (SMCs) to ensure the timely and complete utilisation of these funds. He directed that officials should prioritise the immediate allocation of funds to the concerned schools and ensure that the work is carried out at the ground level, so that children studying in government schools can receive education in a clean, healthy and positive environment. He said this initiative of the state government would prove to be a milestone in further strengthening and improving the state's primary education infrastructure.
