Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, June 4:- Under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program, the Government of India has recently launched the "TB Mukt Bharat" App to spread awareness. Giving this information, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain stated that this app is available on the Play Store for Android mobile phones, and every citizen should contribute to the TB elimination campaign by using it. Dr. Jain said that the "TB Mukt Bharat" app will prove to be an important digital platform for TB elimination, connecting TB patients, health workers, volunteers, and 'Nikshay Mitras' on a single platform to make patient monitoring, treatment progress, and nutritional support services more effective.
The Civil Surgeon further mentioned that the app includes an AI-based 'Khushi' (e-Sangini) feature, through which people can get instant and accurate answers to their queries regarding TB in Punjabi, Hindi, and English languages.
She also shared that a 100-day intensive prevention campaign is in full swing in the district, under which health teams are going door-to-door to raise awareness about TB symptoms. Suspected patients are screened with on-the-spot X-rays in camps, and immediate registration is done. She emphasized that TB is curable, and there is no need to panic. Free treatment is available in every government health institution through the DOTS system.
This disease can affect anyone at any age. It is worth noting that a cough lasting more than two weeks, weight loss, loss of appetite, blood in sputum, evening fever, fatigue, and excessive sweating can be signs of TB.
