Karnal, September 15:- Under the guidance and direction of Karnal Superintendent of Police Karan Goyal, IPS, Karnal District Police is continuously taking strict and effective action against persons involved in theft, burglary and other property-related crimes. In this connection, the CIA Assandh team has succeeded in arresting two accused who allegedly committed a theft of approximately Rs 6 lakh in cash by breaking the shutter of a shop. About Rs 21,000 in cash out of the stolen amount, along with a vehicle purchased with the stolen money, has been recovered from the possession of the accused.
The arrested accused have been identified as Narendra, son of Naresh, resident of Berikheda, Police Station Pillukhera, District Jind, and Harikesh alias Kesu, son of Sanjay, resident of Kabulpur, Police Station Shivaji Colony, District Rohtak.
Addressing a press conference in this regard, DSP Assandh Gorkhpal said that a case under the relevant theft sections was registered at Nising Police Station on September 8, 2026, on the complaint of Khadag Singh, son of Mohan Lal, resident of Nising. The complainant had stated that he owns a cloth shop named Kapoor General Store near Oriental Bank. On the night of August 7, 2026, he closed the shop and went home. When he reached the shop the next morning, the shutter/roller was found broken. On checking the shop, it came to light that approximately Rs 6 lakh in cash kept in the cash drawer had been stolen.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, the CIA Assandh team was continuously making efforts to apprehend the accused. During this period, the police team constituted under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Salinder Singh, In-charge of CIA Assandh, took action on the basis of reliable evidence and technical investigation and apprehended both accused near Highway 152-D, Assandh-Jind Road, Rakba village Bahri, within the jurisdiction of Assandh Police Station.
The police team recovered approximately Rs 21,000 in cash from the possession of the accused. In addition, a vehicle purchased by the accused with the stolen money has also been recovered. DSP Assandh said that both accused have previously been booked in other criminal cases as well. Further action regarding the recovery is being taken as per the rules.
