Bhawanigarh, 25th August:- MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj today inaugurated the Chief Minister Sports Grounds prepared at villages Bald Kalan and Basiaarkh of Vidhan Sabha constituency Sangrur and dedicated them to the people and youth. The construction of these playgrounds has cost Rs. 50 lakh at village Basiaarkh and Rs. 32 lakh at village Bald Kalan.
On this occasion, MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that continuous efforts are being made by the Punjab Government to further strengthen the sports culture in the state and to keep the youth away from drugs and connect them with sports. She said that with availability of quality playgrounds and basic sports facilities at village level, youth will get better opportunities to hone their sports talent.
She said that Chief Minister Sports Grounds are not just a place for sports, but will also become a means to encourage discipline, team spirit, healthy lifestyle and positive thinking among youth. She appealed to the youth of villages to take maximum benefit of these playgrounds and to participate enthusiastically in sports.
MLA Bharaj said that the youth of Punjab has made its unique identity at national and international level in the field of sports. The aim of the government is to bring forward new sports talent by providing required basic infrastructure to players at village level. She said that investing in sports is equal to investing in the golden future of youth.
She said that along with development works in villages of constituency Sangrur, sports facilities are also being given priority and efforts will continue to develop more sports facilities as per need in coming time.
On this occasion, Gurpreet Singh Sarpanch Bald Kalan, Sikandar Singh, Vikram Singh Nakate, Maninder Singh Phumanwal, Lakhwinder Lakha, Sandeep Basiaarkh, Darshan Singh Basiaarkh, Gurcharan Singh Naraingarh, Jagsir Jhaneri, Jassa Bhadho, Jagpal Sarpanch and entire Panchayat Basiaarkh including other dignitaries and villagers were present.
