Sangrur, March 11- On the occasion of International Women’s Day, with the announcement of the “Chief Minister Mothers–Daughters Respect Scheme” during the Punjab Government’s budget session, the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has fulfilled all the guarantees it had promised before the elections. It is the first time that while the guarantee was to provide ?1,000 per month, the government has announced an even higher amount of ?1,500 per month for women belonging to the Scheduled Caste category.
This was stated by District Planning Committee Chairman Gurmel Singh Gharachon, AAP District President Sham Singla, District Secretary Gulzar Singh Bobby, Market Committee Sangrur Chairman Avtar Singh Ilwal, and Municipal Council Sangrur President Bhupinder Singh Nahil, along with other office bearers, while addressing a press conference at the local PWD Rest House.
The “Chief Minister Mothers–Daughters Respect Scheme” is an important step towards economically empowering women. Under this scheme, adult women in Punjab will receive financial assistance of ?1,000 every month, while women belonging to the Scheduled Caste category will receive ?1,500 per month, which will be directly transferred to their bank accounts.
To provide the benefits of the scheme, camps will be organized in villages for filling forms, and the benefits will start being distributed through service centres from the month of April.
They said that with the completion of this final guarantee, there is a wave of happiness among the people, while opposition parties are making baseless statements out of frustration. However, the public knows that only the Punjab Government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann has fulfilled all the promises made before the elections.
On this occasion, AAP Sangrur Women’s Wing In-charge Shinderpal Kaur said that this scheme launched by the Punjab Government for the welfare of women is a highly commendable step.
She said that the scheme will help women manage household expenses and make them financially stronger. She also added that the Punjab Government is committed to making women self-reliant and strengthening their role in society. Women across Punjab are thanking Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for this initiative.
