Hoshiarpur:- Under the Safe School Vehicle Policy, it is very important for the school principal to follow all the rules/conditions in the buses, keeping in mind the safety of the school children. In this regard, as per the instructions issued by the Honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court and Punjab State Child Rights Protection Commission and the orders of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, buses of Kohinoor International School Hajipur and Guru Gobind Singh Public Beigpur Kamluh schools were checked under the Safe School Vehicle Policy.
During the checking, school buses with expired first aid kits, fog lights, no lady attendant, no passing, no speed governor, no emergency exit in the bus, no fire extinguisher, no CCTV camera, excess seating capacity in the bus, no insurance etc. were found. During this, a total of 47 buses were checked and challans of 7 buses were issued.
On this occasion, Ranjit Kaur, Jaswinder Singh from the District Child Protection Unit, Gurpreet Singh Head Constable from the Police Department, Rashnish Kumar Head Constable, Amarinderpal Singh Dhillon from the Education Department and the entire team were present. The task force instructed all schools to get all drivers medically checked on time.
All bus drivers and attendants must wear their uniforms, take special care of young children traveling in buses, ensure they cross the road properly when boarding and alighting from the bus, and any deficiencies found in school buses must be immediately addressed.
