Bathinda, June 4: In the first phase of the census being conducted by the Government of India, Sangat, Kotfatta, Maluka, Maur, Lehra Mohabbat, and Bhai Rupa have achieved the target of 100% house-listing.
Providing this information, Principal Census Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Shri Rajesh Dhiman, stated that the enumerators of these areas deserve congratulations for completing this work through their hard work. The Deputy Commissioner will also honor these areas. Giving further details, he said that the completed areas include 498 house-listing blocks. He added that a total of 1929 blocks have been assigned to 1882 enumerators in Bathinda district, with each block containing approximately 200 houses.
He directed the remaining Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats to complete their work on time. The Deputy Commissioner said that the first phase of the census will be completed by June 13, and the next course of action will be taken according to the guidelines received from the Government of India.
He asked the enumerators and supervisors to strictly follow the census guidelines and procedures to ensure the data is accurate, error-free, and precise. He also appealed to the residents to fully cooperate with the census teams and provide correct information.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Madam Kanchan, Deputy Economic and Statistical Advisor Madam Charanjit Kaur, and others were present during the meeting.
