Hansi: Under the guidance of DC Rahul Narwal, a census survey camp was organized where SDM and District Nodal Officer for the Census, Rajesh Khoth, stated that for the first time in the district—operating under the theme "Census for Public Welfare"—the Census 2027 exercise will be conducted using a completely digital system. This is not merely a compilation of statistics, but a crucial process for outlining the development policies, welfare schemes, and infrastructure framework for the upcoming decade.
SDM Rajesh Khoth was presiding over a meeting on Thursday with officials appointed for the census exercise at the local Public Works Department (PWD) Rest House. Also present at the meeting were Pramod Kumar, Deputy Director of the Census Department for Haryana; Master Trainer Rama; and District Census Coordinator Arun Kumar Negi. SDM Rajesh Khoth urged the officials and employees assigned duties for the census work to ensure they discharge their responsibilities with complete dedication, transparency, and accountability. The SDM stated that the census would be conducted in two phases. Phase I—House Listing and House Enumeration—will take place from May 1 to May 30, 2026. Phase II—Population Enumeration—will be conducted from February 9 to February 28, 2027.
The SDM further mentioned that this time, citizens will also be provided with a "Self-Enumeration" (self-counting) option available from April 16 to April 30, 2026. Citizens will be able to enter their details themselves via a designated online portal or mobile application. Upon submitting their information, they will receive a unique Self-Enumeration ID via SMS and email. Census enumerators will visit the premises solely to verify the submitted information, thereby ensuring both time efficiency and improved data quality.
The SDM explained that, on this occasion, census enumerators will utilize a specialized "House Listing Operation" mobile application, which will be installed on their registered personal mobile devices. This application is designed to function even in offline mode, ensuring that work remains uninterrupted even in areas lacking network connectivity. Data will automatically synchronize as soon as a network becomes available. The app will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. Continuous monitoring of progress at every level will be conducted through real-time monitoring, technology-based dashboards, and the CMMS portal.
On this occasion, Tehsildar Dr. Anil Kumar Vidhan, Block Education Officer Sunil Kumar, and other officials associated with the census were present.
