Sunam, August 24:- The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is continuously undertaking development works to strengthen basic infrastructure and provide better facilities to people in every village and city of the state. As part of this initiative, Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora today inaugurated various development projects and laid foundation stones for new works worth around Rs 4.28 crore in the Sunam constituency.
On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that the Punjab Government is ensuring transparency and quality in development works while addressing the basic needs of the people on priority. He said that projects related to education, drinking water, sports and other basic amenities are being given priority in the villages of the Sunam constituency.
Cabinet Minister Aman Arora dedicated a library, constructed at a cost of Rs 35 lakh, to the residents and youth of village Duggan. He said that libraries play an important role in connecting young people with books, providing a conducive environment for preparing for competitive examinations and promoting the habit of reading.
He said that the Punjab Government considers education to be one of the most important foundations of social progress. The spread of education and knowledge can connect young people with new opportunities and help dispel the darkness of ignorance from society.
Similarly, work was initiated on two Water Works projects costing around Rs 3.60 crore for the Gram Panchayats of Namol and Mirzapattti (Namol). The objective of these projects is to provide clean and quality drinking water to the residents.
Aman Arora said that access to clean drinking water is a basic necessity for every citizen, and the government is taking necessary steps to address water-related problems in rural areas on a permanent basis. He said that these Water Works projects would prove beneficial for the villagers in the long run and provide them with improved access to clean drinking water.
A new sports stadium, constructed at a cost of Rs 34 lakh in village Bakhshiwala, was also dedicated to the people. The Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government is paying special attention to engaging young people in sports and strengthening sports facilities at the village level.
He said that sports grounds and stadiums not only encourage young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle but also help channel their energy in a constructive direction. He expressed hope that the stadium would benefit the youth of village Bakhshiwala and surrounding areas and provide greater opportunities for emerging sporting talent to hone their skills and progress.
Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that the primary objective of the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is to fulfil the basic needs, demands and requirements of the people on priority. He said that the campaign to further strengthen basic infrastructure in every village of the Sunam constituency would continue without interruption.
He said that the benefits of development are not being confined to urban areas but are also being extended to villages, so that people belonging to all sections of society can avail themselves of better facilities and Punjab’s villages can be equipped with modern infrastructure.
Various public representatives, prominent citizens, officials from different departments and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion.
