Hoshiarpur:- A wave of development projects is being carried out in the constituency by the young MLA of Chabbewal. In this series, grants worth approximately 1.30 crore rupees have been issued for the development works of village Bugra, which also include two main roads. Upon the completion of the construction work of a community centre out of these projects, Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar inaugurated it and dedicated it to the village residents. On this occasion, the MLA was warmly welcomed by the villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ishank Kumar stated that the unanimous election of the Bugra village panchayat sets an example of unity and brotherhood for the village. Due to this, a special grant of 5 lakh rupees was given to the Bugra panchayat for development works, under which projects for streets and drains, flooring of the community centre, and street lights were completed. Apart from this, an amount of ?1.93 lakh for solar street lights and ?3 lakh for the cremation ground shed has also been released.
The MLA informed that large-scale work is also underway to improve the roads in the area. The work on a 5.10 km long road from Emma Jattan to Sooni, Rehla, Mehrowal, and Bugra is ongoing at a cost of ?1.05 crore, while work is being done with a grant of ?13.10 lakh for the modernization of the Bugra to Dhada-Sahiba road.
On this occasion, Sarpanch Amandeep Kaur thanked the MLA on behalf of the villagers and gave special thanks for releasing a special grant of ?2 lakh to compensate for the damage caused to the village by floods in the past, so that the affected areas could be restored.
Dr. Ishank Kumar said that the development of villages is not limited just to structural amenities, but our objective is to make people's lives easier and safer. He assured that development works will continue to reach every village of the Chabbewal constituency in the same manner. Gian Chand Panch, Kamaljit Kaur Panch, Lambardar Kashmir Singh, Rohit Singh, Surjit Singh, Paramjit, Harjinder Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Avtar Singh, and a large number of village residents were present on this occasion.
