Nawanshahr:- The Gurdwara Management Committee of village Bheen, with the support of the sangat, collected Rs 1.10 lakh for the flood victims during the past period and donated it to Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society (Regd.) Nawanshahr. During a meeting held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, the team of Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society was called and in the presence of the sangat, Gurdwara Committee President Amrik Singh, Ma: Kulwinder Singh Dhesi, Granthi Gurnam Singh handed over this amount to the society's Chief Sewadar Surjit Singh, Deputy Chief Sewadar Didar Singh Gahun and the entire team that came with them.
Addressing the congregation on this occasion, Ma: Kulwinder Singh Dhesi said that this service was collected by the congregation of the village during the recent floods for the flood victims and the administrators were looking for a suitable organization to provide this service to the needy.
He said that the Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society, which has been providing major services for relief work in the Dera Baba Nanak area since the first day of the floods, is now carrying out construction work for the rehabilitation of the people whose houses had collapsed during the floods and they are continuing their services continuously to fulfill this mission. He said that in view of these valuable services, the money collected by the congregation is being given to the society so that it can be put to good use in building houses for the needy flood victims.
On this occasion, the chief servant of the society, Surjit Singh, thanked the village Gurdwara Committee and the entire Sangat who, trusting the society, have presented this service to the society to reach the needy flood victims. He said that the society will spend this service on the houses being constructed for the flood victims in accordance with the trust and feelings of the village Sangat. He said that the society has taken the service of about seven houses of the flood victims with the cooperation of the Sangat.
On this occasion, the Guru Nanak Mission Society also honored the distinguished gentlemen of the village. Among the Sangat, besides others, the members of the Gurdwara Committee, Harpreet Singh, Tarsem Singh, Manjit Kaur, Gurjinder Kaur, Kuldeep Kaur, were also present. In addition to Surjit Singh, Didar Singh, Jagjit Singh General Secretary, Mukhwinder Pal Singh, Manmohan Singh Kanwal were present in the society team.
