Haryana/Hisar: The Lohri festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fanfare by the Bharat Vikas Parishad Vivekananda Branch Barwala on January 13, 2026, at Vishal Yoga Ashram on Tohana Road. All the members of the branch enjoyed the Lohri celebrations through traditional songs and dances.
The program began with the lighting of the sacred fire by branch president Surendra Soni and former president Virbhan Midha. On this occasion, branch secretary Asha Chugh extended greetings for Makar Sankranti and Lohri to the members present and presented a brief overview of the social and service activities undertaken by the branch in the past year.
During the Makar Sankranti and Lohri celebrations, various entertaining competitions such as couple games, children's games, dance, and Bhangra were organized, which were thoroughly enjoyed by the women, children, and male members. All the games were conducted by Sunita Pathneja, making the atmosphere even more vibrant.
At the end of the program, peanuts and sesame brittle (rewari) were distributed to all the members, followed by refreshments. The program concluded with everyone exchanging greetings for Makar Sankranti and Lohri.
