Ratia, October 30 (Advocate Gurpreet Singh Mander):- An awareness programme was organised today under the Safe Childhood Campaign at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Ratia. On this occasion, Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate First Class (CJ-cum-JMIC) Kumari Jyoti provided the girl students with detailed information about various provisions and sections of the POCSO Act.
In her address, she informed the students about the objectives of the POCSO Act, protection of children, their rights and the legal provisions available against all forms of exploitation. She encouraged the students to remain aware of the law and seek appropriate assistance in case of any untoward incident.
On her arrival at the school, Principal Gajanan and all staff members welcomed and honoured Kumari Jyoti by presenting her with a bouquet. Advocate Deepak, who accompanied her, was also welcomed by the school fraternity.
All staff members of the school were present on the occasion. The objective of the programme was to make the girl students aware of their legal rights and the provisions related to their safety.
