Una, July 22: Awareness camps were organized today at Government Post Graduate College, Una, and SVSD College, Bhatoli, under the 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' (Drug-Free India Campaign) with the support of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
On this occasion, the 'Poorv Kala Manch' (Jalgran Tabba) raised awareness among the students through songs, music, and street plays. The theatre troupes educated students about the adverse effects of substance abuse, the resulting social and health-related harm, and the importance of leading a healthy, positive life by staying away from drugs. Through their impactful performances, the artists sensitized the youth to the dangers of drug abuse and called for positive change in society.
District Welfare Officer (Una) Awas Pandit and Tehsil Welfare Officer (Una) Jitendra Kumar also addressed the students during the event. They urged the youth to steer clear of the social evil of drug abuse, remain focused on their goals, and adopt a healthy, disciplined, and responsible lifestyle. They emphasized that the youth represent the nation's greatest strength, and their freedom from drug addiction is crucial for the bright future of their families, society, and the country.
Students participated enthusiastically in the program and pledged to spread the message of the 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' to the masses.
