Una, June 22: An awareness camp was organized at Shobhit Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Chalola, under the 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' (Drug-Free India Campaign). The event was held under the aegis of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Himachal Pradesh, with the joint collaboration of the District Welfare Officer, Una, and the District Legal Services Authority, Una.
During the camp, trainees were provided with detailed information regarding the adverse effects of substance abuse, preventive measures, and relevant legal provisions. Experts sensitized the students, explaining that drug abuse negatively impacts an individual's health, family, and society; therefore, the youth should stay away from drugs and focus on building a bright future.
On this occasion, Pankaj Gautam (Drug Inspector, District Hospital Una), Jatindra Sharma (Tehsil Welfare Officer, Una), and Kulbir Kumar (Advocate, District Legal Services Authority, Una) shared vital information with the trainees about the harmful effects of drugs, prevention strategies, and the legal penalties associated with substance abuse.
Tehsil Welfare Officer Jatindra Sharma also informed the students about various public welfare schemes being implemented by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Himachal Pradesh.
The Institute's Principal, Desraj Gautam, motivated the students to shun drugs and move forward in life with a positive mindset. He urged for the organization of similar awareness programs in the future so that more young people could actively participate in building a drug-free society.
