Bhawanigarh, 27 July:- Under the initiatives being taken by the Punjab Government with the aim of giving further momentum to urban development of the state and providing better civic amenities to the people, today during a simple but impressive ceremony in Nagar Council Bhawanigarh, Avtar Singh Tari took charge as President of Nagar Council Bhawanigarh in the presence of Sangrur constituency MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj. On this occasion Vice President Karamjit Kaur also took charge.
On this occasion MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj congratulating Avtar Singh Tari on taking up the new responsibility expressed confidence that he will work with honesty and dedication to further accelerate the development of Bhawanigarh with the cooperation of Nagar Council team and all councillors. She said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Government is committed to strengthening the basic infrastructure of cities and towns, sanitation system, drinking water, sewerage, street lights and continuous improvement in other civic amenities.
MLA Bharaj said that every required project related to the development of Bhawanigarh city will be taken forward on priority basis and solution to people's problems will be ensured in a transparent and time-bound manner. She also appealed to all councillors and party workers to work for public service with mutual coordination.
On this occasion Avtar Singh Tari thanking the Punjab Government, party leadership and MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that he will discharge the responsibility entrusted to him with full sincerity. He said that living up to the expectations of every section of Bhawanigarh will be his first priority and every possible effort will be made to provide better civic services to the people through Nagar Council.
During the ceremony Gurmel Gharaocho, Pritam Singh, Rachhpal Bhullar, Mahinder Singh Sidhu, Vikram Nakte, Sukhwinder Mann, all MCs, Aam Aadmi Party leaders, volunteers and respectable persons of the area were present in large numbers. The atmosphere of the ceremony remained enthusiastic and attendees congratulated Avtar Singh Tari on taking up the new responsibility and gave best wishes for the future.
