Chandigarh, September 7:- A major step has been taken to improve healthcare under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. As part of this initiative, 430 Medical Officers have been recruited and appointment letters have been issued to all the selected candidates.
This large-scale recruitment will give new strength to Haryana's public healthcare system. Specialist doctors will be available at district and sub-divisional civil hospitals, while MBBS Medical Officers will strengthen treatment facilities at Community and Primary Health Centres.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Dr. Sumita Mishra, said that the recruitment process for 430 Medical Officers has been completed and appointment letters were issued to all selected candidates on Monday. These letters are being sent to the candidates from today.
She said that the newly recruited doctors have expertise in several important medical fields, which will further expand specialist services in government health institutions.
The appointments include 11 doctors in Surgery, 18 in Anesthesiology, 19 in Orthopedics, 19 in Pediatrics, 4 in Psychiatry, 11 in Ophthalmology, 16 in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 18 in Pathology, 4 in Pharmacology, 1 in Biochemistry, 3 in Radiation Oncology, 14 in Medicine, 1 in Microbiology, 4 in Respiratory Medicine, 4 in Radiodiagnosis, 2 in Family Medicine, 5 in Forensic Medicine, 3 in Dermatology, 6 in Community Medicine and 4 in ENT.
Dr. Mishra emphasized that the postings of the doctors have been planned in such a way that the maximum benefit of the new medical staff can be ensured and specialist services at secondary-level government health institutions can be strengthened.
Specialist doctors are now being posted at district and sub-divisional civil hospitals where they are most needed. This step will improve specialist care and make treatment more accessible for patients at government hospitals.
She said that at the grassroots level, MBBS Medical Officers are filling vacant posts at CHCs and PHCs. This will increase the availability of doctors and ensure that both urban and rural communities can easily access better healthcare facilities.
Dr. Mishra said that the newly appointed Medical Officers are expected to report at their designated places within 15 days of receiving their appointment letters, so that they can take charge of their new roles soon and healthcare services can be strengthened in a timely manner. She said that completion of the recruitment process is an important step towards filling the posts of Medical Officers in the state Health Department and strengthening the medical workforce across Haryana.
