Nawanshahr:- Under the leadership of District Education Officer (Secondary) Anita Sharma and Deputy District Education Officer Lakhvir Singh, a one-day orientation program was organized at the School of Eminence, Nawanshahr. Under this program, training was provided on schemes related to the Orientation Programme for Teachers on Safety and Security, such as POCSO Act 2012, Juvenile Justice Act 2015, Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986 (Amended 2016), Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Amended 2016), Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act 2005, RTE Act 2009, Supreme Court Judgement, NDMA Guidelines 2016, & Security Guidelines 2021, Road Safety, etc., so that students could receive information about the aforementioned acts.
In the one-day program organized, Trainer Sona Sharma, Science Mistress, PM Shri SSSS Rahon, provided detailed information on cyber crime/safety, the disadvantages of AI, and rules to stay safe from it, as well as adolescent education.
Master Trainer Baldeesh Lal, District Guidance Counselor, discussed the POCSO Act in detail. He explained how today's daughters should take advantage of the POCSO Act to stay safe in society. He shared email addresses and helpline numbers related to the POCSO Act.
In-charge ASI Praveen Kumar from the District Traffic Education Cell raised awareness about traffic rules and said that caution should be exercised during foggy weather, and two-wheeler drivers should wear helmets while on the road. Praveen Kumar said that due to dense fog, vehicles should be driven slowly while maintaining distance.
