Chandigarh, May 21:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the "Martyrs' Memorial of the First Battle of Independence" dedicated to the glorious story of the first freedom struggle of 1857 in Ambala Cantt will be a wonderful symbol of patriotism, valor and sacrifice. He said that this monument will not only preserve our historical heritage, but will also become a powerful center of inspiration for future generations, especially the youth.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini was inspecting the "Martyrs' Memorial of the First Battle of Independence" under construction in Ambala Cantt on Thursday. It is worth mentioning that the work on this monument is now in the final stage. Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Shri Anil Vij, senior officials of the state government, historians, design experts and officials of the concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
The memorial will be dedicated to paying true tribute to the brave martyrs - Chief Minister
The Chief Minister, while taking a detailed inspection/review of the memorial complex, appreciated the quality of construction work, historical presentation and combination of modern technology. He said that this memorial will be a true tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. He said that the first freedom struggle of 1857 is a golden chapter in the history of India and through this memorial, the new generation will get inspiration for patriotism, sacrifice and dedication towards the nation. Chief Minister Shri Saini said that the land of Haryana has been the land of heroes and martyrs and the state government is continuously working to preserve the memories of freedom fighters and national heroes. He said that this monument will be a unique confluence of modern technology, historical facts and magnificent architecture, which will also become a center of attraction for tourists and researchers from home and abroad.
Chief Minister's instructions to complete the remaining works of the monument
During the inspection, the Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to complete the remaining minor works of the monument on priority basis at the earliest. He said that the authenticity of historical facts and quality of presentation should be ensured in every part of the monument, so that the people visiting here can get a real experience of the glorious history of the freedom struggle.

The Chief Minister said that this monument will not just be a building, but a national consciousness center that keeps the spirit of patriotism alive. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, various efforts are being made across the country to convey the contribution of freedom fighters to the new generation under the Amrit Kaal of Azadi and the "Martyrs' Memorial of the First Battle of Azadi" will prove to be an important link in that direction.

Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini lauded the efforts of the Energy Minister Shri Anil Vij for this important project and said that due to his guidance and special interest, this memorial is developing in a magnificent and historic form. He expressed confidence that this memorial will become a major centre of national pride in the future and further strengthen the spirit of patriotism.

Haryana's Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij today inspected the "Martyrs' Monument of the First Battle of Independence" and gave detailed information to the Chief Minister about various arrangements, technical arrangements and construction works related to the monument. He said that this monument based on the 1857 revolution is the first and historical monument of its kind in the country, in which various heroic stories, wars and sacrifices of the freedom struggle have been displayed through modern technology.
Shri Vij said that the struggle of the unsung heroes and revolutionaries associated with the 1857 struggle has been specially shown in the monument, so that the countrymen can be made aware of their glorious history.
This monument will also prove to be an important knowledge center for students and researchers. He directed that priority should be given to students of schools, colleges and other educational institutions to visit the memorial, so that the new generation can get detailed information about the history of the freedom struggle, patriotism and the invaluable legacy of sacrifice.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini and Energy Minister Shri Anil Vij inspected the various galleries and auditorium built in the "Martyrs' Memorial of the First War of Independence". In the auditorium, senior officials including the Chief Minister and the Energy Minister also watched a short documentary related to the 1857 Revolution and appreciated it. On this occasion, the Chief Minister and the Energy Minister also planted a Rudraksha sapling in the premises of the memorial.
During the inspection, Additional Chief Secretary of the Public Works Department Apurv Kumar Singh, Commissioner and Secretary of the Information, Public Relations, Language and Art Department Dr. Amit Agarwal, Director General of the Information, Public Relations and Language Department Shri K. Makrand Pandurang, Director of the Shaheed Memorial Dr. Kuldeep Saini, senior historian Kapil Kumar and other dignitaries were present.
