Chandigarh:- A dispute has come to light regarding voter verification linked to residence number 2207/1 located in Sector-45 C. Local Aapka Tarminder Singh Choudhary has sent a written complaint to the Election Officer of Chandigarh alleging that the Booth Level Officer (BLO) verified voters at a residence that has already been sealed by the Chandigarh Housing Board, whereas this should not have happened.
According to the complaint, the concerned residence was sealed by the Chandigarh Housing Board on 16 May 2025. Despite this, 6 voters are registered at the said address. The complainant says that he contacted the officials several times in this regard and also personally went to the camp located in Sector-45 C and lodged an objection, but he did not get a satisfactory answer.
Tarminder Singh Choudhary alleged that if the property was sealed, then how was voter verification done at that address. He also said that if the concerned voters are actually living at some other place, then their votes should be transferred to the current address.
In the complaint, it has been demanded from the Election Department that a fair investigation of the matter be conducted, the verification record done by the concerned BLO be checked, action be taken against the responsible officers if any irregularity or negligence is found, and necessary corrections be made in the voter list to ensure transparency and fairness of the election process.
The complainant has also claimed that no actual verification was done at the block level in the concerned matter and he has also offered to provide necessary documents and information for cooperation in the investigation.
