Haroli/Una, March 8 (Rajveer Chopra): Incidents of bodies being found under suspicious circumstances in the Haroli area continue unabated. After Bhadasali, the discovery of a young man's body on Crusher Road near Janani has caused a stir in the area.
According to information received, on March 7, 2026, Haroli police received information that the body of an unidentified young man was lying on the side of Crusher Road near Janani. Upon receiving the information, Sub-Inspector Ashok, Investigating Officer at Haroli Police Station, was dispatched to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival and investigation by police, the deceased was identified as Saurav, son of Santokh Singh, a resident of Jaijon, Punjab (age 18). A motorcycle, a syringe, and other items were also recovered from the deceased.
According to police, no signs of assault or injury were found on the body. Although the discovery of a syringe at the scene raises suspicions that the young man's death may have been due to drug abuse, a definitive confirmation of this will only be possible after the post-mortem report is available.
The police have taken the body into custody and informed the family. The deceased was initially brought to the Regional Hospital, Una, from where he was referred to Tanda Medical College for further treatment. The post-mortem is underway.
The station in-charge appealed to the public, urging parents to pay special attention to their children. Young people who fall prey to drugs like chitta could be at serious risk for their lives. Society needs to work together to protect the younger generation from this quagmire of addiction.
He also urged anyone with information about those involved in the drug trade, including chitta, to immediately inform the police. The identity of the informant will be kept strictly confidential.
