Karnal, 02 June: Under the special campaign being run by the Karnal district police against illegal liquor smugglers and manufacturers, the Munak police station has achieved success in arresting an accused in a significant operation. This action was taken by a police team led by Head Constable Ravinder Singh, based on secret information.
The police team apprehended the accused, Sohan Singh, son of Hari Singh, a resident of village Aichla. During the search, five bottles of illegal country-made liquor and 170 liters of Lahan were recovered from the possession of the accused.
Giving information about the case, the investigating officer stated that a case has been registered against the accused at Munak police station under the relevant sections of the Excise Act. Further action in the case is being taken by the police as per the rules.
The Karnal district police are continuously running a strict campaign against illegal liquor smugglers and drug dealers, and similar actions against such anti-social elements will continue in the future as well.
