Hoshiarpur:- Advocate Ranjit Kumar, former President District Bar Association Hoshiarpur, while issuing a press statement, demanded that the Aam Aadmi Party government, running under the patronage of Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, should fulfill the promises made to lawyers in its last budget. He reminded that during the election campaign in December 2021, Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Mr. Arvind Kejriwal Ji, while addressing a gathering of lawyers in Amritsar, had promised that if the Aam Aadmi Party government is formed, it will take action to provide young new lawyers with stipends, health and life insurance and chambers.
This promise was published by the Aam Aadmi Party on 25 December 2021 with great fanfare in social media, print media and electronic media. But it is a matter of great sorrow that it has been 4 years since the government came to power but the promises made by the government to the lawyers have not been fulfilled.
Young struggling lawyers, especially women lawyers, face a lot of difficulties without any economic and social security. They demanded that the Punjab government should release funds for the construction of stipends, health and life insurance and chambers for the young lawyers as per the promises made in its last budget. They also demanded adequate social security arrangements for the clerks working with the lawyers who play an important role in the daily work of the court.
