Patiala:- Today, Gyan Jyoti Education Society Patiala organized a special event on the occasion of World Water Day in which school students, teachers, parents participated. The chief guest of the event was Dr. Harnek Singh Dhot, Assistant Director, Language Department, Punjab. Principal Satish Kumar presided over the event. The special guest was eminent social worker Upkar Singh.
The main objective of the program was to make the students aware about water conservation and its proper management. On this occasion, the chief guest Dhot had a detailed discussion with the students and staff. He told how with small efforts we can save water on a large scale.
Upkar Singh made the students aware about the diseases arising from polluted water and the importance of clean water. He highlighted the need for clean and safe water for a healthy life. Principal Satish Kumar expressed concern over the declining groundwater levels in Punjab and said that efforts should be made to recharge the groundwater.
