Karnal, October 24: SDM Anubhav Mehta stated that during the fifth year of the Drug-Free India Campaign, a special campaign will be launched in November to raise awareness through various activities to eradicate the evil of drug addiction. The SDM was speaking at a meeting of officials in his office on Friday regarding the successful conduct of the campaign. Officials from various departments were present on the occasion.
The SDM urged all officials to successfully organize activities related to their respective departments and ensure that photos of all activities are uploaded to the Drug-Free India Campaign app. Photos of all activities should be sent to the District Social Welfare Officer.
He stated that various competitions, such as slogan writing, rangoli, and painting, should be organized for children in educational institutions during this campaign. Furthermore, awareness should be raised during prayer meetings. He also advised that the general public, including school and college students, should be administered a pledge to stay away from drugs. Not only this, all officers should take the oath themselves and administer it to their staff.
He informed that the Government of India has made arrangements for taking the oath online. For this, a QR code must be scanned. Once the QR code is scanned, one can receive a certificate after taking the oath.
He instructed the officers to display this QR code in their offices, Panchayat houses, and other public places so that more people can take the oath to create a drug-free India.
He said that information about the various activities of the Drug-Free India Campaign should be provided in Gram Panchayat meetings and people should be encouraged to take the oath. He also said that this campaign should be promoted on all platforms of the publicity system. Rallies, seminars, workshops, and street plays should be organized to create awareness.
