Karnal, October 24: ADM Anubhav Mehta announced that a grand Run for Unity will be organized in the district on October 31st, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man, a symbol of national unity, integrity, and harmony. The Run for Unity will begin at the NDRI Gate and conclude at the Karna Stadium.
Approximately 3,000 people from all walks of life, including college and school children, as well as representatives of social organizations from across the city, will participate. The concerned officials should take their responsibilities seriously to ensure the successful organization of this event.
SDM and Nodal Officer Anubhav Mehta was providing necessary guidance to the officials at a meeting held in his office on Friday regarding the preparations for the Run for Unity. He directed the Civil Surgeon to ensure the availability of a medical team, including ambulances, and essential medical facilities during the event.
He also directed the Municipal Corporation officials to ensure cleanliness and sanitation along the entire route during the event. He directed the Food Supply Department and the Secretary of the Red Cross Society to ensure refreshments are provided to participants during the event.
The SDM directed the Public Health Engineering Department to ensure adequate drinking water is provided along the Run for Unity route, ensuring participants do not face any inconvenience.
He directed various departments, including the Education Department, Women and Child Development Department, and Development and Panchayat Department, to ensure maximum participation of students, youth, and public representatives, so that the event creates an atmosphere of enthusiasm and patriotism. He also directed the District Sports Officer to complete all preparations, including the stage for the event.
DSP Rajiv, DDPO Kanchan Lata, District Education Officer Sudesh Kumari, and officials from various departments were present on the occasion.
