Chandigarh, May 6 - Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that to save food grains from spoilage, it is necessary that a sufficient number of warehouses and silos are available in the state. For this, the concerned departments should prepare an expansion action plan and find a permanent solution to the problem of food grains as soon as possible. He directed that a plan should be prepared to build silos (large warehouses) between Shahbad and Ambala for storing food grains.
Mr. Naib Singh Saini was chairing a review meeting of food grains storage and water supply arrangements in Palwal and Nuh areas in the state with officials of various departments at the Haryana Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Mr. Shyam Singh Rana and other high officials of various departments were present in the meeting.
Instructions to select land up to 100 acres between railway and road for silo
The Chief Minister said that our farmers work day and night for food grain production. It is also necessary to have a sufficient number of warehouses for safe storage of this food grain. He directed the officials to make a plan for the construction of silo (huge warehouse) at a place between Shahbad and Ambala which is between the railway line and the road. By doing this, connectivity of silo with the entire country will be possible at low cost. He said that land up to 100 acres should be reserved for silos as per the requirement between the railway line and the road. He directed the officials to complete the work of preparing a plan for land reservation and silo construction within a month.
Emphasis on action plan for safe storage of fruits and vegetables in Hisar
The Chief Minister said that in view of the ongoing war in the Middle East, there is a huge demand for vegetables and fruits there. For this, the Chief Minister asked the Warehousing Corporation to prepare a plan for setting up a silo and a large warehouse near Hisar Airport where vegetables and fruits can be safely stored and supplied to the Middle East through Hisar Airport. By doing this, the vegetable and fruit producing farmers of the state will be able to get higher prices for their products.
Officials to plan canal water supply
Public Health Department officials said that tubewell-based drinking water is supplied to 108 villages of Palwal and Nuh areas and Punhana Nagar. Therefore, the department will install 7 rain wells and boosting stations to recharge the ground to maintain the groundwater level. This work will cost Rs. 765 crore. The Chief Minister said that along with this, a plan should be made for water supply through canal water in those areas where water is supplied through tube wells, because in the coming time, new industrial areas will be developed in the swimming and drinking water areas and the public will also need more water there.
Instructions to plant a large number of plants under the One Tree for Mother scheme
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that in view of the upcoming monsoon season, maximum number of plants should be planted in the entire state. He said that from now on, a large number of trees should be planted in the entire state through the One Tree for Mother scheme so that the green area of ??the state can be increased. He said that tree guards should be installed for the protection of the planted plants and it should be ensured that all the plants get water on time so that they can fully develop. For this, the officials should work by making a proper action plan.
