Karnal, October 13: The death of a newborn during childbirth at Karnal Civil Hospital has caused deep outrage among the family. The family alleges that the baby died immediately after birth due to the negligence of the staff nurse on duty.
They say that despite the increasing labor pains, the nurse did not perform the delivery on time and went to eat lunch. Upon learning of the incident, the police arrived at the scene and began an investigation. The family of the deceased infant is demanding strict action against the guilty staff nurse and related employees.

**The nurse kept saying, "Let the pain get worse," family alleges.
According to information, Gursevak, a resident of Kunjpura, admitted his daughter-in-law, Pinky, to Karnal Civil Hospital on the evening of October 12th when she was experiencing labor pains. Pinky's sister-in-law, Sonia, said that she repeatedly told the nurse that the woman was experiencing severe pain, but the nurse repeatedly said, "Let the pain get worse."  According to the family, a lot of time passed under this pretext, and the situation worsened.

**The nurse went to eat before the delivery.
The family alleges that when the pregnant woman experienced severe pain, she was taken to the labor room, where another woman's delivery was already underway. The nurse then said she would eat first and then attend to the next delivery. Meanwhile, the pregnant woman experienced unbearable pain, and the baby began to come out.

**By the time a cleaning worker caught the baby, it was too late.
The newborn's father, Gursevak, says that when the baby came out, only a cleaning worker was present in the labor room. She handled the baby and tried calling the nurse several times. But the nurse did not respond. Later, Pinky's sister-in-law, Sonia, ran out and called the staff, but by then the baby's condition had deteriorated.

**It was the first child, but all the happiness was ruined.
Gursevak explained that they had been married for only a year, and this was their first child.  They said the delivery was normal, yet the nurse applied seven unnecessary stitches. The family says the hospital staff's negligence has taken away all the joy from their home.

**Police investigating, demanding action
Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team arrived at the scene and questioned the hospital staff. The family has demanded strict legal action against the guilty nurse and related staff to prevent such negligence from happening again.
