Karnal, April 11: Dr. Wazir Singh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, stated that during the year 2025-26, subsidies were provided for the purchase of crop residue management machinery to facilitate the management of paddy crop residues and to curb incidents of stubble burning. The entire process—from inviting applications to the disbursement of subsidies—was conducted through the Department's online portal. However, due to the failure of certain manufacturers to complete the online formalities, subsidies could not be released to 72 farmers.
He further informed that, keeping the welfare of farmers in mind, a decision has been taken to provide one final, special opportunity to complete the online process on the Department's portal, thereby enabling the release of the eligible subsidy directly into the accounts of the concerned farmers. Therefore, all concerned manufacturers are hereby notified to complete this process on the Department's portal within a window of two working days—from April 12 (midnight) to April 15 (midnight). It is to be noted that no further opportunities will be granted thereafter, and the concerned manufacturers will be held responsible for providing the eligible subsidy to the farmers.
