Garhshankar:- The city is struggling with a big problem of traffic. On the occasion of Hola-Mohalla and Baisakhi, the arrival of devotees from Doaba and Majha to visit Sri Anandpur Sahib and other Gurdwaras, the traffic situation in Garhshankar is seen to be worse. There is also a big shortage of traffic employees here.
Although the government has not come forward to take the initiative to improve these conditions, the saints of Kar Sewa Fort Anandgarh Sri Anandpur Sahib, who are doing a major work of making a large part of the Garhshankar-Sri Anandpur Sahib road four-lane, have taken up the initiative of building a mini bypass at Garhshankar under the leadership of Kar Sewa Chief Baba Satnam Singh, keeping in mind the Hola-Mohalla and with the aim of reducing the traffic problem.
The construction of the road has been started on both sides of the Bist-Doab canal between the road going from Garhshankar to Nawanshahr and the road going from Garhshankar to Banga. The road for building the road is being leveled by pouring a large amount of material on both sides of the canal and it is likely that the road will be ready for the Sangat and the people of the area in the next few days.
The traffic problem has been relieved by making this road operational. Baba Satnam Singh said at the commencement of the work that all these works are being done for the convenience of the Sangat with the blessings of Guru Sahib and with the cooperation of the Sangat. There is a wave of happiness among the city and local residents regarding the work being started by the saints and it is expected that this will provide great relief from traffic jams in Garhshankar city. Chuhar Singh Babbar Garhshankar, Nirmal Singh Boda and others were present on this occasion.
