Haroli/Una, April 16 (Rajveer Chopra): A tragic incident has come to light in the village of Dulehar—located within the Haroli Assembly constituency under the jurisdiction of the Tahliwal Police Station—where a 27-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself inside his home.
The deceased has been identified as Balwinder Singh, son of Jasbinder Singh, a resident of Village and Post Office Dulehar, Tehsil Haroli.
According to reports, Balwinder Singh took this drastic step by fashioning a noose out of a bedsheet and hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his room. The incident came to light when family members discovered him hanging in the room, following which the police were immediately informed.
In their statement to the police, the deceased's family members revealed that Balwinder Singh had been battling mental stress for some time and frequently appeared distressed. The family asserts that it was this stress that drove him to take this tragic step.
Upon receiving the information, a team from the Tahliwal Police Station arrived at the scene and inspected the site. The police have taken custody of the body and have initiated further proceedings. According to the police, a thorough investigation into the matter is currently underway.
