Sagar/Bhopal, September 8:- The death toll from consuming spurious liquor in Sagar has reached 22. The deceased include a father and son. After consuming the spurious liquor, 112 people fell ill and have been admitted to hospitals in Sagar and Bhopal. FIRs have been registered against 30 people, including the liquor contractor, and 10 of them have been arrested.
Mahesh Rawat (55), Shyam Bai Ahirwar (50), and Krishna Kumar Lodhi died on Monday morning. Earlier, Ram Prasad Lodhi, who was brought to Bhopal by air, died late on Sunday night; his father, Govind Lodhi, had also died on Sunday.
Ram Prasad’s younger brother, Bhure Lodhi, is currently admitted to a hospital in Sagar. Besides this, later in the afternoon, Bhagwan Singh (35) of Gogra Khurd, Gopal Adivasi (40) of Khatora and Desh Kumar Lodhi of Mudna Paira also died.
